    Keysla M. Byrd-Lee completed her graduate studies at the University of Central Florida in 2005 with her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She returned to school in 2009 to complete her Doctoral studies for the degree of clinical doctorate in Speech- language Pathology at Nova Southeastern University. She is currently licensed and practicing at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital under her Florida state license and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC). She began her field work as an SLP in the Florida public school system in 2005, and later transitioned into the Medical setting at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (NCH) in 2007. She has served as a lead clinician under the title of clinical specialist, and later focused her clinical skills as a speech and language diagnostician in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This skill set later propelled her into the role of an AAC diagnostic lead for her organization. She currently serves as a rehabilitation manager within the Miami Children’s Hospital Health System for Outpatient Care. She was recently given the opportunity to align on a new venture within the MCH organization as a member of the domestic/international tele-health team for rehabilitative services. Her current tele-health project will focus on implementing best practice strategies, and cultural sensitivities for families within the United States and abroad, while achieving therapeutic success through tele-health practices.
